Andrew Hutchings: Long Beach Arrest and Real Estate Fraud Charges (2024)

Authorities in Los Angeles are looking into a recent case of real estate fraud and identity theft that allegedly included two male Long Beach residents, including Andre Hutchings. In this case, the authorities are searching for any further victims.

Andrew Hutchings: A Brief Introduction

Andrew Hutchings has been a successful real estate agent for more than 40 years. He serves clients throughout the state of California from his location in Long Beach. His remarkable ability to revitalize properties with excellent restorations distinguishes him as a leader in his industry. While he doesn’t necessarily focus on flipping properties, he likes the challenge of taking dilapidated homes and turning them into opulent castles.

Andrew knows the value of exerting a great deal of effort because of the early example his parents provided for him. It is said that he entered the real estate buying and selling business immediately after graduating from high school. His ability to gain more than ten years of valuable expertise at Century 21 is a testament to his exceptional work ethic.

He was able to attend school full-time and graduate from Long Beach State University with a bachelor’s degree despite working a full-time job. He decided to pursue a degree in Business Finance with a Real Estate concentration at that point in his career.

This turned out to be a crucial decision. At the young age of 22, Andrew obtained his broker’s license, and four years later, he made the audacious decision to launch his real estate firm.

Andrew firmly believes that one of the most fulfilling jobs anywhere in the world is that of a business owner. He may choose when and where he works because of this company’s flexibility, which is a big plus.

Furthermore, because the real estate industry involves a lot of social interaction, Andrew’s extroverted personality complements this line of work well. He does best in settings that promote human connection and social engagement, and he typically approaches his clients in the same manner that he approaches friends.

Beyond the successful real estate career he has developed for himself, Andrew has several interests, one of which is a great desire to travel. This love of exploring new places began when he was a small child and has continued to be a significant aspect of his life into adulthood. Andrew is appreciative that his father was an aviation professional when he was a child.

Because of their father’s work, Andrew and his siblings were able to travel the world multiple times. He now has a profound awareness of the various cultural customs practiced all around the world as a result of this unique encounter.

When Andrew isn’t seeing fascinating new locations or spending time with the people he loves, he likes to indulge in his second hobby, which is wristwatch collecting. His extensive collection attests to his broad range of interests and shows how much he values these timepieces.

But when I dug deeper into his cases, a lot of issues with the veracity of the material provided here about him started to emerge.

The accusations made against Andre Hutchings

59-year-old real estate broker Andrew Hutchings and 60-year-old Long Beach resident Ronald Hoch were both charged on October 23, 2017, by the District Attorney’s Office for the County of Los Angeles, California, with numerous significant felonies. The two males are Long Beach natives. This group of charges, which included grand theft, identity theft, forgery, procuring and offering a false instrument, and money laundering, was given the case number BA462055. Arrest warrants have been issued for them, and they have been wanted for arrest.

The complex system that was allegedly used in the alleged criminal conduct, which occurred between 2013 and 2017, mostly targeted elderly and deceased victims who owned abandoned residences in several locations, including Westlake Village, Lakewood, Hemet, and Los Angeles. It is also said that victims in other places were also targeted by the fraud.

To carry out acts like selling or attempting to sell the victims’ homes and obtaining mortgages using the victims’ assets as collateral, the defendants in the conspiracy purported to be these victims.

They made things even more confusing by utilizing the money they made from their fraudulent operations to purchase gold coins from companies in other states. After that, they arranged for the coins to be delivered to mailboxes in California using made-up identities that they had obtained.

The fact that the total damage in the case exceeded $190,000 indicates the enormous impact that their actions had on the economy. On the other hand, it’s thought that the defendants planned to take more than $1 million in equity from the victims’ homes.

Andrew Hutchings was placed under arrest at his residence on November 6, 2017, and he remains there for his court appearance, with a $645,000 bond. Ronald Hoch was caught near his home and taken into custody on November 2, 2017.

He is presently being held in jail instead of a $500,000 US bond. On November 7, 2017, the Foltz Criminal Justice Center’s Department 30 was the venue for each of these people’s arraignment hearings.

It is crucial to keep in mind that a criminal charge consists of claims and that unless a judge or jury in a legal action establishes guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, each party is assumed innocent. As part of a joint-forces operation, the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department both contributed to this investigation.

The Bottom Line

In summary, Andrew Hutchings and Ronald Hoch, residents of Long Beach, were charged in October 2017 with several serious offenses, including Identity Theft and Money Laundering, concerning a convoluted scheme that targeted elderly and deceased victims and their abandoned homes.

It is said that the fraud was run to steal money. The case involved money laundering, illegal property transfers, and impersonation, and it resulted in a total loss of almost $190,000.

Following the arrest of both suspects, it was made clear during their arraignment that they would always be considered innocent unless and until their guilt could be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department conducted this investigation in cooperation with the Los Angeles Police Department.
